THE CHALLENGE
Data-driven operations are playing an increasingly important role in the world of transport and logistics. Insights and information are becoming more and more important for (daily) decision-making. That's why Cornelissen has invested in a new and modern data platform.
"At Cornelissen we use various applications. There are more than 500 trucks on the road every day, and it's not just a question of transport. We are talking about logistics services and everything that is involved. There is a lot of data available at every step of the process. Unlocking and integrating this data from disparate systems was the challenge. By harnessing the power of TimeXtender and Power BI, we have been able to gain valuable insights from this data. This enables us to make faster decisions and improve processes," says Niels Tijssen, Business Intelligence Specialist at Cornelissen.
THE SOLUTION
Cornelissen had a data lake which was under the management of an external party. This solution was not very flexible and not very accurate. In addition, a great deal of work was also being done in Excel. All this was quite complex and time consuming. Moreover, as Cornelissen continued to grow, more and more data needed to be processed. That is why Cornelissen decided to use TimeXtender combined with PowerBI.

THE RESULT
TimeXtender is a user-friendly tool. It allows data from different applications to be linked together in a clever way. This has enabled Cornelissen to gain more and better insights. Many calculations are done in TimeXtender, which relieves Power BI but also creates a single truth of the data. Thanks to the automation of these steps, Cornelissen has up-to-date data on a daily basis. These are for use in reports, but are also available to data analysts for further analysis.

THE FUTURE
Cornelissen continues to liaise with 2Foqus. A consultant regularly visits Cornelissen to discuss technical solutions or the addition of a new data source to the BI landscape. In this way, there is an exchange of knowledge, and the BI team is able to continue to develop itself in the TimeXtender environment.
