Instances are self-contained objects that can be managed or migrated individually, while still maintaining full object dependencies and data lineage across one another.
Because the instances are fully-managed in the portal, customers no longer need to host their own repository and will benefit from a more trouble-free experience.
Admins can now configure any of TimeXtender’s vast library of over 250 data sources directly from the web portal.
Add data source credential can be added and access shared, securely. No more searching frantically for that that notepad, where you saved your credentials. Then precariously sharing passwords over email or chat.
In the Portal:
By abstracting the connection details away from the configuration settings, users can easily switch providers as needs change, delivering a more scalable, future-proof, solution.
Since data source connections are defined in the portal. You can now create a data source, complete with table selections and incremental load configurations. Then switch the data source connection later.
In the ODX tab:
Selecting individual tables and fields from a data source is now easier than ever. This new interface allows you to quickly choose exactly what data you want to bring into your ODX Storage.
In the ODX tab:
TimeXtender Desktop now authenticates and configures directly from the portal. Simply login and have immediate access to all instances which have been pre-configured in the portal.
Death to pesky license keys and client secrets!
In the Desktop:
Some source systems round up the data modification value. Others even allow a “grace period” that allows it to change transaction data without indicating it has been modified.
Incremental Subtraction allows you to configure TimeXtender, to subtract a desired amount from the previous max incremental value, allowing your scheduled loads to automatically take into account the data that may have changed since your previous execution.
In the ODX tab:
TimeXtender now let’s you instantly document the details of all data sources and tables that have been extracted and stored in the ODX in an easy to navigate PDF file.
In the ODX tab:
When building a data estates, it is common to integrate multiple data source with different data but identical structures. Mapping Sets allow you to define a search criteria, then TimeXtender will automatically map any source table that fits the criteria into that destination.
Acquiring a new company which uses the same data source? No problem. Once the data source is added, you simply synchronize the mapping set and all matching tables are added automatically.
In the MDW tab:
With data profile you can easily get a quick overview of the in a table. Quickly see row counts, number of uniques, min and max values etc. This makes if faster than ever to analyze data to begin modelling.
In the MDW tab:
With the ability to execute and schedule PowerShell scripts from within TimeXtender you have nearly endless automation possibilities in Azure as well as most windows machine or SQL Server tasks as well.
The following are just a few examples of activities you can now schedule directly from TimeXtender:
In the Execution tab:
This edition introduces the ability to execute semantic models directly to the Power BI Premium endpoint.
Now, if you have a Power BI Premium subscription or Power BI Embedded resource, you can execute any of your existing models directly to the service. No need to recreate or rebuild your models!
