This release introduces the cloud-powered ODX, Data Warehouse, and Semantic Model instances.

Instances are self-contained objects that can be managed or migrated individually, while still maintaining full object dependencies and data lineage across one another.

Because the instances are fully-managed in the portal, customers no longer need to host their own repository and will benefit from a more trouble-free experience.

In the Portal:

  1. Click on Data Estate > Instances
  2. Click Add Instance >
  3. Configure your Instance details
  4. Confirm your selections

Admins can now configure any of TimeXtender’s vast library of over 250 data sources directly from the web portal.

Add data source credential can be added and access shared, securely. No more searching frantically for that that notepad, where you saved your credentials. Then precariously sharing passwords over email or chat.

In the Portal:

  1. Click on Data Estate > Data Sources
  2. Click Add Data Source
  3. Select from over 250 provider types
  4. Configure your data source
  5. Confirm your selection
  6. Map your data source to an ODX Instance

By abstracting the connection details away from the configuration settings, users can easily switch providers as needs change, delivering a more scalable, future-proof, solution.

Since data source connections are defined in the portal. You can now create a data source, complete with table selections and incremental load configurations. Then switch the data source connection later.

In the ODX tab:

  1. Right-click a data source > Edit data source
  2. Under "connection" click Change...
  3. Select the new data source connection.

Selecting individual tables and fields from a data source is now easier than ever. This new interface allows you to quickly choose exactly what data you want to bring into your ODX Storage.

In the ODX tab:

  1. 1. Right-click a data source > Select Tables...
  2. CTRL+Click to multi-select tables.
  3. Click Add to include tables in selection.
  4. With a selected table highlighted, click Select Columns...
  5. Add or Remove selected columns with a preview of the data.

TimeXtender Desktop now authenticates and configures directly from the portal. Simply login and have immediate access to all instances which have been pre-configured in the portal.

Death to pesky license keys and client secrets!

In the Desktop:

  1. Open TimeXtender Desktop
  2. Enter your user credentials previously created in the portal

Some source systems round up the data modification value. Others even allow a “grace period” that allows it to change transaction data without indicating it has been modified.

Incremental Subtraction allows you to configure TimeXtender, to subtract a desired amount from the previous max incremental value, allowing your scheduled loads to automatically take into account the data that may have changed since your previous execution.

In the ODX tab:

  1. Right-click a data source > Setup Incremental Load
  2. Create or Edit a rule
  3. Configure your subtract from value in
    1. Amount - if the value is not date/time
    2. Time - if the value is a date/time

TimeXtender now let’s you instantly document the details of all data sources and tables that have been extracted and stored in the ODX in an easy to navigate PDF file.

In the ODX tab:

  1. Right-click the ODX node > Documentation
  2. Configure your documentation appearance.
  3. Click OK to save and open your documentation in a PDF file format

When building a data estates, it is common to integrate multiple data source with different data but identical structures. Mapping Sets allow you to define a search criteria, then TimeXtender will automatically map any source table that fits the criteria into that destination.

Acquiring a new company which uses the same data source? No problem. Once the data source is added, you simply synchronize the mapping set and all matching tables are added automatically.

In the MDW tab:

  1. Right-click on a table's Mappings folder > Add Mapping Set
  2. Add your filter criteria
  3. Click Refresh to see your matching tables
  4. Confirm your changes

In the MDW tab:

  1. Right-click on a table > Data Profile
