Semantic Layer Security

TimeXtender Tuesday - Episode 24

This episode of TX Tuesdays will focus on Security in the Semantic Layer of TimeXtender. This is a critical part of a production solution ensuring the sensitive or private data is secure, in a scalable, easy-to-manage way for the Power BI users.

A great example is teams of salespeople and managers displaying performance in their respective territories or regions. In this scenario, the user may want to restrict what users see to their own data, but not the data of others.

To see how this is done, Joseph Treadwell will walk us through the steps to create roles and row-level security for SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) Tabular endpoint, with the end result displayed & tested in Power BI.
